Abbey Farm Cottages, Audley End

Over the years, Church Street Works has carried out numerous construction jobs for Audley End Estates. However, this one was a little bit special because the plan was to carry out a two-storey extension and modernisation of a run-down farm cottage, to make a wonderful new home.

Plans were drawn up by Hibbs & Walsh Architects in Saffron Walden. The extension was of timber frame construction with a traditional sand and cement render on the exterior to ensure it remained in-keeping with the local surroundings.

We added two bedrooms and bathrooms, a new kitchen and dining room, and installed underfloor heating throughout. We also built an oak frontage garage and log store and a new sewerage treatment plant in the garden.
